One of the best opportunities for learning and development professionals to show their value is to demonstrate how the transfer of learned skills and knowledge influences individual and organizational performance. Effective learning transfer means that learning leaders must extend their reach to include the post-course environment. In this interactive session, you will explore best practices for promoting learning transfer outside of the training function and for engaging managers in actively supporting trainees' on-the-job application of learned skills.  Proven examples and practical take-away tools will be provided.

Holly Burkett PhD, SPHR, CPT is Principal of Evaluation Works and has been a certified Return-on-Investment (ROI) professional since 1997. She has over 20 years experience assisting public and private sector clients develop and implement measurable and meaningful impact measures of learning effectiveness. An Associate of Jack Phillips’ ROI Institute, she is also recognized as an Evaluation Expert with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Sample clients include: the National Security Agency (NSA); Apple; and the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. She is a frequent ASTD and ISPI conference presenter, international workshop leader, and author on measurement topics.  She holds a doctoral degree in Human Capital Development and earned her Masters degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco.
