It is now well accepted that there is more to effective leadership than high IQ. In the past two decades, Daniel Goleman’s groundbreaking research on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) has been widely embraced by the business community.  However, in today’s increasingly complex business environment, even EQ is not enough to meet the challenges of modern leadership.

At our May 15th meeting, Steve Sphar will present the SQ21 model of Spiritual Intelligence (SQ), where you will learn:

  • The workplace benefits of developing Spiritual Intelligence through a skills based approach
  • How Spiritual Intelligence enhances and expands leadership capacity
  • The research, testing and validation supporting the SQ21 Spiritual Intelligence Assessment
  • How Spiritual Intelligence, like the skills of any intelligence, can be developed over time
  • Why Spiritual Intelligence is distinct from religion or any specific belief system

This model of Spiritual Intelligence was developed by Cindy Wigglesworth and is described in her best selling book, SQ21, The Twenty-One Skills of Spiritual Intelligence, now printed in four languages.

In the forward to her book, John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, writes:

I love this book.  I haven’t just read it – I have studied it and practiced it.  I think the ideas in here are crucial for anyone who wants to grow wiser, more compassionate and to help create a better future.”

Steve Sphar, J.D., ACC, is an ICF certified coach and seasoned leadership consultant with over 25 years of experience helping business leaders create sustained, positive change.  He helps develop leaders through one-on-one coaching, leadership training and facilitated retreats for management teams.
