March eLearning SIG: Sacramento Area Instructional Designers Meeting

Hi Crusaders,

The March meeting will be upon us shortly and I wanted to set the agenda and provide information on the meeting location as it has changed for March.

The agenda. I received a wonderful idea from a regular attendee at our meetings, Sabine Whipple. Basically, she said, "Why don't you do a meeting on graphic design and have people submit things they've done?" Great idea, Sabine!

So, we're going to talk about graphics - what makes 'em good, bad, ugly, effective, etc. We'll talk about some essentials of graphic design that you should be thinking about when inserting all-important graphics into your work.

But, most importantly, I'd like you all to share your graphics, and thoughts about graphics, and things you've done that have worked for you (and maybe some that haven't), and share some ideas on what you do to create original work or manipulate the work of others.

If you could send me examples in advance then I can have them ready to show and you can talk about your submission.

Depending on what I receive, I'll have some stuff I've done and can show some tips and techniques I've used to create/modify graphics to make them unique.

I am looking at modifying the time as I've received some feedback that it would be good to go to the meeting right after work and maybe be done earlier. So, the meeting will be from 5:30-7:30PM at the Los Rios CCD Workforce and Economic Development Center, 1410 Ethan Way, Sacramento. Park in the South Parking Lot for direct access to the conference center.
